Crockpot Chicken
1 whole chicken (free range/no hormones)2 carrots, thinly sliced 1 onion, sliced2-3 turnips, dicedsalt and pepper to taste2 c low sodium and organic chicken broth1 c waterbasil, oregano, thyme and/or rosemary to tastegarlic powder to tasteIn a slow cooker, place half of the vegetables. Place chicken (breast up) in slow cooker and cover with broth, water, remaining vegetables and spices. Cover and cook on low for 7-10 hours or high 3-4 hours.
