1 whole chicken (free range/no hormones)
2 carrots, thinly sliced
1 onion, sliced
2-3 turnips, diced
salt and pepper to taste
2 c low sodium and organic chicken broth
1 c water
basil, oregano, thyme and/or rosemary to taste
garlic powder to taste
In a slow cooker, place half of the vegetables. Place chicken (breast up) in slow cooker and cover with broth, water, remaining vegetables and spices. Cover and cook on low for 7-10 hours or high 3-4 hours.
