Who says kids lunches cannot be fun and healthy? Opt out of the commonly unhealthy lunches provided at your children's school and get them involved in creating easy, healthy lunches at home.
Above is a sample of our nightly ritual - making school lunch. Each one of our kids has different tastes and not everyone wants the same thing for lunch.
Supplying the lunch container (with lid!) with different "compartments" means you don't have to worry about some foods spilling into others and they are easy to wash and reuse.
The rule for filling their lunch containers is simple - they can choose what to put in the compartments, as long as there is some protein and carb (typically meat and veggies/fruit).
I like to have staples on hand for easy filling (hard boiled eggs, shredded chicken/turkey/pork/beef from leftovers, easy fruit/veggies like blueberries, applesauce, apples, bananas, oranges, cherry tomatoes, roasted broccoli or other leftover veggie. Adding a handful of nuts completes the meal.
Thanks for showing how you do this. It's always helpful to have new ideas! :)
