Adapting your meatloaf recipe for Paleo
Many of your favorite recipes can be adjusted to make them nutritionally dense and closer to Paleo. Some minor additions and deletions in ingredients is all it takes. One of the easiests recipes to alter is meatloaf. Using your favorite meatloaf recipe, substitute the bread or oats for cabbage. I mix all my spices, egg, onion, etc. into the meat first. Then I chop up about half a head of cabbage (finely or roughly chopped as desired) and mix that into the meat mixture, then bake. Any favorite tomato sauce or bbq topping works great as well! Serve with a small side salad or roasted veggies and you have an incredibly delicious Paleo dinner - exceedingly nutritious!
